Why Austin Ragans Chose Charleston Southern University



Austin Ragans understands the value of a quality education. When it came time for Austin Ragans to choose a university, Charleston Southern University was an easy decision. After beginning his degree work at Montgomery College from 1999 to 2001, Austin Ragans attended Charleston Southern University from 2001 to 2003 where he received a bachelor’s degree in business administration in marketing.

Charleston Southern University was founded in 1964 as Baptist College and is home to over 3,300 students. Students like Austin Ragans are able to choose from over 50 undergraduate degrees. Austin Ragans decided to pursue his bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in marketing. At Charleston Southern University each degree program that is offered is combined with a comprehensive liberal arts foundation. This foundation allows students, like Austin Ragans, to develop problem-solving and communication skills.   

Austin Ragans also chose to attend Charleston Southern University because of the highly successful football team. All the teams at Charleston Southern University participate in Division I of the NCAA and are members of the Big South Conference. As a defensive back, Austin Ragans played in the 2001 and 2002 seasons for the Charleston Southern University Buccaneers.

When it is time to choose a university, Austin Ragans understands the importance of choosing the right school. It is more than just strong academics, the school you choose must help you develop a solid foundation which will help build a solid career. Austin Ragans made the right decision when he chose to attend Charleston Southern University.
