Charleston Southern University is located in North
Charleston, South Carolina and was
founded as Baptist
College in 1964. Although
the university is a private school with a small student body of less than 4,000
students, it offers an impressive array of programs from traditional business
degrees to modern degrees such as music and worship. Charleston Southern
University also offers graduate degrees in business, nursing, and criminal
justice and education. Additionally, the school has numerous academic clubs,
service clubs, and has a broad Greek life system.
Austin Ragans was drawn to
Charleston Southern University for its academics and its sports. He played
football in high school and was eager to continue his career in college. Austin
Ragans played as a defensive back for the school team, the Buccaneers, in 2001
and 2002. In addition to his success with football, Austin Ragans also excelled
in academics. He enjoyed the rigorous coursework that Charleston Southern
University offers, and feels that his degree adequately prepared him for a
career in medical device sales. Austin Ragans highly values his degree from
Charleston Southern University, and couldn’t imagine completing his
undergraduate degree anywhere else.
